We have had a lot of fun as the three main prototype teams gathered their supplies and started in on their projects.
The Kicker Prototype team of Joe and Reid created a basic kicker mechanism and then decided that the actuation mechanism would be too difficult to organize so they moved on to creating a catapult system instead. This system will be powered by a pneumatic system.
The Conveyor Belt/Ball collector prototype was worked on by Chenelle and Caleb. They created the basic mechanism using 1.5" PVC pipe, a 3/8" piece of steel pipe and some 2x4"'s. They secured everything with bushings and then need to work on a way to secure the rod and the pipe tomorrow.
The Hugger (formerly known as Morgan's Ladder) system is being created by Morgan, Aubrey and Jorge. They will continue to assemble the prototype tomorrow.
Dorian continues to work on the Python coding for the USB camera that will be placed on the new robot.
All of the teams benefited greatly from the wonderful help of the college mentors Nitay, Eli and Ori, as well as adult mentors Dawn Buckley and John Kyler.
