The programming team of Dorian, Elias and Reed is making good progress. Dorian is working on writing the vision tracking code in C++ while Elias is working on the programming to help translate the C++ code back into JAVA so that the robot will be able to work with it. Dorian told me about the problems they have been having with the O Droid 2X board. he is hoping that is will be straightened out soon, as it is the component necessary to translate the C++ code into JAVA.
Joseph worked on the electrical board, creating the basic board on the board cut to the shape and size of the new chassis. it is essential that we get a basic board up and running soon so that we can start driving the robot and getting experience on how it will handle.
Eli worked with Doug and they decided on the strategy on how to build the roller arm superstructure onto the chassis. It was a lot more work than Eli had anticipated, and drilling through the aluminum is time consuming and hard work. It was an excellent opportunity to teach Thomas, Aubrey and Jorge how to use the drills on aluminum. You can see a photo of the complete plate on the first row, fourth image above.
I enjoyed Eli's analysis of how we are getting a team mentor to help us weld our robot in aluminum was such a blessing. his statement was "We at Team Illusion will continue our tradition of OVERBUILDING our robots!".
